"Bring the Change"
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society asked Lenape Middle School to host their "Bring the Change" program, a student-driven coin drive that benefits their organization. The weeklong fundraiser, taking place from 2/6 to 2/10, is a progressive coin drive, where each day faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to dress in the theme for the day and bring in the denomination of coin for the day. Here are the key details:
- Pajama Penny Day (2/6): Wear your favorite pajamas and bring in lots of pennies.
- Neon Nickels Day (2/7): Wear your brightest neon and bring in some nickels.
- Dress up Dimes Day (2/8): Dress up in your fanciest attire and bring your dimes.
- Quirky Quarters Day (2/9): Wear your craziest outfit and donate quarters.
- Lenape/West Spirit Day (2/10) Dress in your Lenape and West gear and bring in any denomination of money.
More information can be found here.
My Payments Plus
CB Middle Schools will be using My Payments Plus for parents to use to pay for field trips, PE uniforms, student activities and other fees. You will receive an email blast to inform you that a field trip has been set up for your student, and you can log onto My Payments Plus and make a payment. If you have a student at West, you may already be familiar with the program.
The 2nd semester started on January 26th and some parents received an email blast that their student will be taking PE and some 9th graders will be taking Photography. You can now go into MPP plus to pay for PE uniform - $6.30 and Photography fee of $45.00. You can check your payment history by using 8-1-2016 to present date for payment history search. Attendance Procedures
Just a reminder that if your student will be absent from school, please call the Attendance line at 267-893-2820 and leave a message with the student's last name, first name, homeroom teacher, and reason for the absence. Please do not leave a message to dismiss your student early - that requires a note from the student to bring to the front office with a dismissal time and a reason for leaving early. Also, please do not email a note to your student's homeroom teacher about leaving school early.
If your student is not feeling well, texting the parent is not the procedure we would like our students to follow. We have a school nurse available, and the student should be seen by the nurse, and the nurse will call home if needed.
Please be mindful with the winter weather of rain and/or snow. Students that are being driven to school, homeroom starts at 7:30 AM. The drop off line can be rather long. If your student is not in homeroom by 7:30 AM, they will be tardy unexcused. Excessive tardies will result in administrative detention. Please allow yourself enough time to drop off your student, at the gym doors, to keep the flow of cars moving. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

PARENT POSITIVE SERIES
Understanding Childhood Brain Development: How to Unlock Potential - Join James J. Stone, PsyD, Doylestown Health neuropsychologist, to learn tools and strategies to help nurture and maximize your child's potential. The presentation is designed to help parents understand how their child's brain processes information at different ages, how skill sets evolve developmentally, and how to translate that knowledge into appropriate expectations of their child. Parents will leave with strategies to empower their child to complete tasks at hand, and an understanding of when to encourage them to try on their own, and when to step in and help.
The presentation will be on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 PM at Lenape Middle School Auditorium. Click here for more information.

FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE
There are steps you can take in your daily life to help protect you from getting the flu.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hands. Germs spread this way.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- Practice good health habits. Get plenty of sleep and exercise, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat healthy food.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- If you do not have a tissue, cough into your elbow or the fabric of your clothing.
- If you are sick with flu-like illness, stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
