*Grading changes in grades 3-8*
Changes to grading practices will go into effect this trimester. A parent document outlining details of grading in core academic and unified arts classes will be emailed early next week. There will be an opportunity for teacher questions at Open House. If you have any questions following Open House, please contact Michelle Mott.
Grades will be updated as often as possible. You may login to Power School to check your child's achievement grades and learning practices.
Power School
The following letter was sent home on Wednesday, August 29, to parents of new students at Kent Center School. All parents receive this letter when your child starts school. Power School is an important resource for communication regarding grades and updates to your school messenger account. If you need Power School login information, please call or email Meghan Robb.

Last week, the Board of Education held a workshop with former Superintendent, Dr. Joe Erardi. During this time, the board discussed their three main goals for this school year:
- Always make decisions based on what is best for students.
- Honesty and transparency with all stakeholders.
- Follow a communication protocol with Central Office administration, school administration, parents, and the community.
The Board of Education looks forward to another great school year at KCS!
