Cub Pride
Food Drive
Our athletes and coaches gathered 400 canned food items during the food drive in November. Congratulations to our Mighty Cub athletes!!
Christmas Boxes of Blessings
WOW! What a great way to give back and help others. AMS staff and students gave part of their Saturday to help others by boxing up meals for needy families. Mr. Khowja represented our admin team and said that both staff and students were focused on boxing as many meals as possible. Ms. Lima said "That was the best event I have ever been to!"
The word is out! Alief Middle's staff and students displayed their purpose, passion and pride this weekend. A special thanks to Ms. Michaela Tran for organizing the field trip and getting staff excited about giving back.
Cookies, Cocoa & Community Service - Thank you Ms. Panetti and ASP!
Queensberry Theatre and Grub Burger Bar
Our ESL teachers and students took a field trip Queensberry to watch A Christmas Celebration which included a variety of performances such as seasonal dances and short plays. They also got to eat at Grub Burger Bar at City Center which allowed them the opportunity to practice their English by ordering from a menu. Once again Ms. Tran was busy as she helped organize the trip with Ms. Morgan and the ESL teachers.
The Nutcracker
Our sixth graders attended The Nutcracker Ballet at the Brown Theatre. The students really enjoyed the performance and they were dressed for success!!
And succeed they did, at leaving a positive impression on the theatre staff. They complemented AMS for their behavior throughout the performance and how quietly they exited. Huge thanks to the chaperones and Mr. Khowja for exposing our students to the arts.
Orchestra Concert
Our families packed the house on Thursday night to watch the AMS Orchestra students perform. What a delight it was!!
Great concert Ms. Franklin!
Gym Progress
They have brought the big boys out now! They have begun breaking ground on the construction of the new gymnasium. I want to thank our coaches and elective teachers for being flexible during this time. Both departments have had to adjust their fire exits and have had to change their routines to allow the construction crew to continue with the project. THANK YOU!
