Every Kid Healthy Week
In honor of Healthy Kid week we hosted a food drive for Grant Township. THANK YOU for celebrating this week and sharing the following information with your students' families! We collected lots of food for families in need. Thanks to Christine Arndt and the Wellness Committee for planning the week's activities!
Family Activity Sheet – The family activity sheet that was sent home with your child (ChooseMyPlate.) Please turn in these completed sheets on Friday, April 28th. They will be displayed in the cafeteria of each building.
Food Tasting – Our Food Director Mrs. Longo conducting a food tasting that was a big hit! Thanks, Mrs. Longo!
Please feel free to reference http://choosemyplate.gov which contains a lot of resources for families to learn about nutrition and meal planning- This would be great to share with your families too!!!
Food Allergy Awareness Week
Food Allergy Awareness Week is May 14-20!!!
Please see this link for activities you can do with your kids! https://www.foodallergy.org/food-allergy-awareness-week#.WP5pFDw8LYU
I would highly recommend using the resources to help our students build awareness of other students' needs.
2017- 2018 District Calendar of Events & Building Usage
Although we have many days in the current school year, we are also beginning to plan for next year. Do you know of any dates that can be added to the master calendar for 2017-18? Such as - grade level performances, math night, family reading night, PBIS family dance, Nature Center Fall Festival, Prime Time, Noetic Math, Stackapalooza, Jump Rope For Heart, Spelling Bee etc. Please email Cathy with any dates you know about now. You will still need to complete a building usage form, but we would like to get the dates set.
We hope that this will make it easy for anyone in the future to see if building space is available. So, before you schedule an activity, you'll be able to see what's going on in the district. :)
Let us know if you have any questions.
