New Volunteer & Chaperone Policy (IMPORTANT)

  • The school district is now requiring all volunteers, including field trip chaperones, to undergo a background check PRIOR to being able to volunteer for school activities and participate in field trips. All volunteers must also have a signed confidentiality agreement on file.
  • Fingerprints may be done at the Pointe Coupee Parish Detention Center or the Louisiana State Police. If you decide to have your prints done at the detention center, there will be a 2-3 week wait before your background check is returned. Visit the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board for forms if you plan to have your prints done at the detention center.
  • Background checks are returned immediately with the Louisiana State Police. The Louisiana State Police headquarters is located at 7919 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA.
  • Click here to download the full volunteer packet & State Police forms.
  • We truly appreciate and value all of our volunteers! Please remember that these steps are being taken for the safety of your child(ren).

Student Driver Parking Permits

Friendly reminder that students who do not have a 2019-2020 parking permit will NOT be allowed to park on campus after Labor Day. If your child has not purchased a parking permit, please pre-pay for the permit on Skookii and submit the completed student driver packet to the front office by Tuesday.

Student IDs and Planners

Students who paid their $20 STEM dues should have received a student planner this week. If you paid your 19-20 STEM dues and your child has not received his/her planner, simply call the office or send your receipt to your child's teacher.

The STEM dues include your child's ID, ID cover, lanyard, and student planner. Students who did not pay the dues will not receive a planner.

Payments can still be paid online or in person. Click here to pay online now.

We are still in the process of issuing student IDs. If your child took a photo on picture day, he/she will receive an ID by the end of next week. Students who were absent on photo day will take pictures on Wednesday, September 4.

Beignet Bolt

STEM Magnet Academy of Pointe Coupee has partnered with the City of New Roads to host the Harvest Festival Beignet Bolt 5K. The race will be held on October 19, 2019. All proceeds from the event will go to our Playground fundraiser.

Families are encouraged to register for the race. Students who participate in the race will be allowed to wear their race day shirt to school. Other incentives will be offered, as well.

Students may use the code "summersover" for a discount when registering.

If you are unable to register for the race but would like to donate to our playground fund, please click here.

Thank you for your support!

Student Progress Center

If you have not set up a Student Progress Center (aka Parent Command Center), please do so asap. The Student Progress Center allows you to check your child's grades, discipline reports, and LEAP test scores.

Directions for setting up your Student Progress Center account can be found here.

STEM Parent Hub: Now OPEN!

The STEM Parent Hub will replace the STEM Family Guide that was issued last year. This is a website created just for STEM parents that will be kept current with useful information. Be sure to refer to it often when you have a question or to learn about upcoming event and deadlines.
