Upgrading the Library
There has been a frenzy of activity in the Library this week. We have taken delivery of bespoke signage ordered by Mrs. Rodwell and Mrs. Campbell before they left. Their vision has been realised and the Library is looking great because of it. The intention was to have the books more visible and accessible, and these changes manage to lift the presence of the books and enable easy location of our catalogue. Some of the updates are highlighted below, but why not come and visit us and enjoy the upgraded Library at Peak School.
Popular Series.
The popular series are clearer to identify with the signs specific to each shelf.
Fiction Books.
It's now easy to locate well known authors with the new divider and series are more visible with the front facing stacks.
Non-Fiction Books.
The complicated Dewey system is still in place, but also these shelf dividers enable the children to locate books by area of interest.
Coffee Morning
The Library will be sharing about the resources and possibilities we have following the Introduction to PYP session on Wednesday 12th September. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
Visiting Author Marianne Anderson
Meeting a local author.
The Library reading chair went on an adventure when local author Marianne Anderson took Year 4 on a fantastical journey with her book on Wednesday 5th September. She read from her recently published book 'The Golden Age' talking to the children about how we can see the world around us and how that can inspire our imagination and our writing. The Golden Age is a fantasy book set in Hong Kong, reminding us that we don't need to look too far to create a world beyond reality. The book is available in the Library if you'd like to read it, and to discover more about Marianne Anderson you can find her on Instagram or Facebook @andersenmariannehk .
