Background

  • He studied astronomy, among other subjects at Krakow Academy (now the University of Jagiellonion.)
  • He lived in a wealthy family because his father was a merchant.
  • He was born in 1473 in Torun, Eastern Poland.

Achievements

He begun Heliocentrey which is the belief that the Sun is the center of the Universe. He also wrote a book called " On the Revolutions of Celestial Body's". He also Proved the church wrong and escaped from execution.

Impact on Today

He Changed the calender and the length of years. He changed the way we all think of the universe by proving that earth is not the center of the universe, but the sun is.

Interesting Facts

He was possibly going to be executed by the Church because they didn't agree with his ideas. When he died his Uncle took over for protection.
