From the Desk of Performing and Visual Arts

Spring ISD hosted the TMEA Region XXXIII Orchestra auditions at Spring High School on Monday, October 25, 2021. While Spring ISD does not have a strings program, our wind and percussion players audition for placement in the region-wide ensemble, providing them a unique, additional opportunity while advancing in the Texas All-State audition process. Spring ISD high school campuses placed twenty-five musicians in Region XXXIII Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras and advanced seven musicians to the final round of all-state auditions in January 2022. These students worked incredibly hard to earn a chair in these ensembles, adding hours of practice on top of their already rigorous academic and marching band schedules.
