Fall Fundraiser Totals

We are thrilled to announce that we raised $6,068.50 from our Just Change and Pumpkin Run Fundraiser! This exceeds our $6,000 goal. We will announce the winning classrooms that raised the most from the Pumpkin Run and our top 10 students on the announcements next week. We are hoping to complete the Pie Staff Members for our top 10 students and the classroom movie popcorn parties before Thanksgiving break. (Tentatively Friday 11/17). Thank you again for helping us raise money to support field trips, staff appreciation, the 1 Book 1 School Spring event and guest speakers.

Amazing Author Visit this week!

This week 2nd and 3rd grade students were visited by author Nina LaCour and heard all about her new book The Apartment House on Poppy Hill. We have signed copies available for anyone to purchase in the library for only $12! We accept cash or check (Made out to Cherry Drive Elementary) for the books...come see Mrs. Gilbert in the library. So glad we can offer these opportunities to students.

Here is a little blurb about the book:

Welcome to 1106 Wildflower Place: It is no ordinary apartment house, but you, reader, are no ordinary visitor. So, please, come in!

Two new tenants have just arrived, and nine-year-old Ella is determined to help them settle in. Who better to teach them about the glitchy lights and the nighttime noises? After all, Ella knows all the neighbors. Well, almost all. No one has met the mysterious Robinsons who live on the top floor. Will a special neighborly celebration change all that? This bighearted chapter book by bestselling author Nina LaCour, highlighted by lively illustrations throughout, celebrates community, friendship, family, and home. It is a place of walking dogs that aren't yours, keeping surprises secret, and making everyone feel welcome.

How Sick Is Too Sick to Come to School?

When Children and Staff Should Stay Home from School or Child Care

During Colorado’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, children and staff who have been exposed to a positive case or who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 listed in this attachment, must follow the Guidance for Cases and Outbreaks in Child Care and Schools. Testing for COVID-19 is strongly recommended for anyone with symptoms or a known exposure. When the guidance for COVID-19 instructs children and staff to follow their regular return to school illness policy, this guidance may be used to determine when children and staff may return to school or child care.
