HALO HIGHLIGHT

Dear Saints Parents,

I want to begin by saying thank you. Thank you for your commitment to our school and the choice you have made to send your child(ren) to St. Louis Catholic. While we believe it is a tremendous investment, we recognize it can also require sacrifice.

The 2018-2019 school year is off to a great start. We welcomed eight new teachers, a new paraprofessional in our Transitions program, a new school counselor, a new campus minister, a new chaplain, and we even doubled our Advancement office! Great things are in store for our school this year as we honor our traditions and create a bold plan for our future.

I hope you enjoy the revamped Halo Notes. We encourage you to take the time to read the entire email so you can get a full sense of the week ahead at St. Louis Catholic High School.

Go Saints!

St. Louis Catholic Saints Football Hosts Sam Houston Friday

As the fall semester gets underway, there are already great things happening at St. Louis Catholic, including the start of a new football season Friday at 7 p.m. in Cougar Stadium.

Admission is $8 for fans ages 6 and up (children 5 and under are free). Students and faculty receive free admission to Saints home games with their student IDs and faculty cards, respectively. Century club members - you have a card for each person on your application, and the cards are only valid for those individual names. Come out and support the Saints!

And to celebrate a new season, Father Ruben Villarreal will celebrate Mass Friday at 6:30 a.m. in the Commons.

Attendance & Lunch Reminders

Too many lunches are being dropped off in the office, so we ask that lunches are taken care of before school. We will not allow food from any restaurant to be delivered to students.

Attendance guidelines have changed. Please refer to the attendance policy in the student handbook to review the new rules. Also, any student driving to school must purchase a car tag in the office. Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card or registration along with $35 to secure a tag.

Clip Your Community Coffee Labels

Landry Library collects Community Coffee labels all year, so please drop them off at the office or send them with your students. The money we receive is used to purchase library resources for our students and teachers (books, research materials, equipment, subscriptions, etc.)

No School Monday

St. Louis Catholic is closed Monday, September 3 for Labor Day. Click HERE for the 4-day week schedule. The schedules are always linked to the Google calendar for your reference.

Students who would like to join Art Club should stop by Room #4 and pick up a flyer before Tuesday, September 4.
