Book Fair Recap
This fair, with the help of all of you super shoppers, was my most successful since taking over as the Librarian. Thank you so much for helping us reach our $3500 goal AND exceed it! The Book Fairies were able to make purchases for nearly 20 students who created wish lists, and much to our pleasure, the students were thrilled. Additionally, with the Scholastic Dollars earned from the profits of the fair, we purchased over 60 new titles for our collection!
Thank you!

What Kind of Reader are You/Your Students?
Take the quiz and find out what kind of read you are! Once you know, come on down and check out our selection of books for your "type".
This site (abookandahug.com) also has a "Read Alikes" page that helps point your students to books that are similar to books that you're students have read and liked.
Free Books!
If you have any MIDDLE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE books gathering dust at home, please bring them in to help ensure our cart stays fully stocked!
7th Grade should see the cart rolling into town on Monday, 12/10 and the 8th grade will get the cart on Monday, 12/17.
Cyber Robotics Coding Competition
Thanks to all of you who have been so willing to try something new in your classrooms! Coding is not for everyone, but thankfully it WAS for so many of our students that we earned a spot at the December 15th Finals at UNH (and NO not all schools were invited!)
Our school will be sending two teams of two to compete to win up to $5,000 in grant money and the title of best dang coders in the state! Good luck to Ishmael, Alyssa, Ethan and Beckett!
Hour of Code and Padlet
This year's Hour of Code event will have students choosing popular songs and coding avatars to dance to the music. Afterwards, students will be using a "new" to them tool called Padlet to reflect on what creativity means to them.
I would LOVE to show you ALL how to use Padlet as a tool in your classroom, but if you'd prefer to read about it- check out this blog post of ideas on how to use it with your students.
