Week 34
Week 34 Notes
Today we got a real taste of the summer weather. I hope your children got the chance to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors while still learning. As you start thinking about the summer, I highly encourage all families to schedule in some projects and learning along the way. It doesn't have to be a set of worksheets or a nonfiction book, but the summer months can be a great time to learn outside of the classroom.
This week, I encourage you to ask your child "Are there any fun projects or new skills you'd like to learn about this summer?" or "Are there online classes or lessons we can take together?" Whether it's a woodworking project or guitar lessons, I hope you take an opportunity while we're all at home to connect and continue learning alongside your child.
Thanks,
Jeff Carron

Summer School Update
Summer school will not run as originally planned from June 15th through July 9th. Academic preparation will be prioritized in our 2020 summer school offerings.
In an effort to set ourselves up for the best possible opportunity to hold an in-person summer school program, we are adjusting our dates from June to August of 2020. Specifically, we currently have calendared August 3-14 for summer school 2020.
HHASD would prefer to conduct an in-person summer school. However, we continue to receive updates and new information pertaining to guidelines that are necessary in order to do to our part to minimize the risk of COVID-19 in our schools.
Please share your thoughts in this survey regarding your interest in signing up your student(s) in virtual summer school, if we are unable to offer in-person summer school.
Remaining School Items Plan
To ensure a safe, complete pick-up of remaining school items, the RMS staff will utilize the following timeline.
May 11th - 15th - RMS support staff will clear lockers, bag remaining items, and place labeled items designated areas in the cafeteria
May 18th - 29th - RMS teaching staff will clear all student items from their classrooms and place them in designated areas in the cafeteria. This includes gym lockers, art projects, and any classroom work. A two week period is needed to ensure we keep the number of staff in the building at a safe level.
June 3rd from 1:00 -4:00 PM and June 4th from 7:30-11:30 AM - Families will be able to pick up remaining school and/or lost and found items. There will also be stations to drop off Chromebooks, athletic jerseys, library books, and any remaining school items. Please see the included map and directions for details.
All vehicles will enter the parking lot through the Basswood Ln. entrance and proceed through the bus lanes. A staff member will relay the name of the family as they enter. Please bring a sign to display your child(ren)’s name in the window as you enter.
Vehicles will stop outside of the main entrance to drop off items. Please make sure to clearly label your child’s Chromebook and charger. Include first name, last name, and grade level.
As families return items, a staff member will bring remaining school items to each vehicle.
Vehicles will exit right onto Holy Hill Rd. and proceed through the roundabout.
