Important Dates and Information

Tiogue is proud to be a Title One & Feinstein Leadership School!

WE ARE AT THE 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Time has gone by so quickly.

*Please refrain from sending candy into school for Valentine's Day*

Our Health and Wellness Policy in the district prohibits candy and excessive food celebrations.

Parking Lot

It has come to our attention that many people are double parking and/or creating their own parking spaces in the lot during dismissal time. We know that there are limited parking spaces at our school, however, we respectfully ask that you do not park in the lot if there is not a marked space. There are times when daycare vans and school buses are the exception.

Several families have reported to the main office that adults are engaging in arguments in the parking lot, sometimes using profanity and/or hand gestures that would be inappropriate for any school grounds. We ask that you do your part in helping to model positive and acceptable behavior in front of all students.

Lockdown Drill

On Friday, February 9th we practiced our 2nd lockdown drill at Tiogue. I am happy to report that the drill went very well. Students were respectful and quiet during the drill and our faculty and staff worked to the best of their ability to keep the children occupied and calm. The total time spent on the drill was 5 minutes.

We will continue to practice emergency drills during the second half of the school year. When the weather becomes a little warmer, we will practice fire drills once again.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegitable Program memo from the RI Dept. of Health is found below.

*Dear Families,

Children in some RI schools participating in the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program exhibited an allergic reaction to the Kiwi served today. Hopkins Hill and Tiogue are a part of this program but no children at either school experienced a reaction. We removed the fruit at both schools as soon as we were notified by the Department of Health. The Health Memo can be found below this section. It was sent home via listserv on Friday.

IF your child has had a confirmed case of the Flu, please inform the front office or Nurse D'Aguanno. Our School Department is closely monitoring the health and well being of our students, faculty and staff.
