Spotlight on CTE

CTE, or Career and Technical Education, are courses that have been historically viewed as vocational education/training for students who are not college bound. However, in the last 20 years, CTE courses have been transformed, realigned, and now not only provide skilled training for high demand career fields, but also enhance the knowledge and skill set needed to be college bound.

At Bartlett ISD we are very fortunate to have a highly qualified and diverse CTE staff on hand. We are able to provide skill sets that encompass construction, child development, business and marketing, and digital media pathway. We begin introducing students to the CTE pathways in the 6th grade, and allow them to use their own interest to determine which direction they go.

Each of these pathways provide the student with opportunities to earn certifications that are highly sought after in the workforce and provides them with a greater opportunity upon graduation to begin work at a higher wage.

If you have any questions or would like more information regarding Bartlett ISD's CTE programs, please contact Amanda Gander, Dean of Students.

Money Matters!

5th grade is working extremely hard on keeping a balanced budget while attending a fancy restaurant at a Safari. They must use their math strategies to determine which appetizer, entrée, dessert and drinks work best for their budget given.
