Spotlight on CTE
At Bartlett ISD we are very fortunate to have a highly qualified and diverse CTE staff on hand. We are able to provide skill sets that encompass construction, child development, business and marketing, and digital media pathway. We begin introducing students to the CTE pathways in the 6th grade, and allow them to use their own interest to determine which direction they go.
Each of these pathways provide the student with opportunities to earn certifications that are highly sought after in the workforce and provides them with a greater opportunity upon graduation to begin work at a higher wage.
If you have any questions or would like more information regarding Bartlett ISD's CTE programs, please contact Amanda Gander, Dean of Students.
Students enrolled in the Principles of Construction course have to understand and be able to demonstrate proper safety rigging and use of personal equipment. Students who successfully complete this course will earn their NCCER Core Level 1 certification, which is equivalent and accepted in place of the OSHA 10 safety training.
Doing to Learn
Senior welder, Andrea Vazquez, uses the welding skills she has learned while enrolled in the agricultural and construction classes to help repair a football sled.
Student look at the educational pathways they can take in high school and how they relate to the high demand careers in the area.
