NAESP: Report to Parents - Fight Flu and Germs in the New Year
Without fail, my children tend to get sick at the wrong times - whether they have a big test, Holiday or when we're going to see family. In fact, throughout December, it went from one child, to the next, to the next, and so on. And let's face it, it is never much fun feeling lousy and under-the-weather. We always remind them to wash their hands (first) and then use anti-bac (next best) whenever possible - but if your children are like mine, they tend to forget. Our District/School Rule is to leave children home for 24-hours after being fever-free (using Motrin doesn't count). To guide your children with helping to keep themselves, their friends and family members from getting sick, read NAESP's Fighting Flu and Germs.
"You’ve probably already heard it: the tell-tale sniffles of flu season, which peaks in January and February. Navigate flu and germ season with these tactics for prevention and care"

Attendance and Excuse Notes
We are in the "cold & flu season" and absences tend to increase during our winter months. Please be sure to send in any notes regarding your child's absence in a timely manner. All absences are marked as unexcused until a note is received. If your child accumulates 3 unexcused absences, we are required to conduct a meeting with the parents and student as required by the SAIP law (School Attendance Improvement Plan).
Attendance notes can be sent in with your child or electronically sent to: butler@cbsd.org
Thank you!
