New books in the library!
Because it's March!
Why should you check out a book?
Because we counted and there are only fourteen actual school days in March. Do you know what the other days are? Holidays! And you know how to make a good holiday, a GREAT holiday? Take a book along. :)
The older fiction...is strong this month
Along with The Gods of Tango, which won the Stonewall Book for Literature this year, and Out of Darkness which was a Printz award nominee, we have some amazing fiction. If you're interested in time travel and historical fiction with a touch of high seas drama, definitely take a look at Passenger by Alexandra Bracken.
Salt to the Sea
Just a heads up, if you thought Between Shades of Gray was a tear jerker, this one will have you hugging the entire box of kleenex.

YA is always chockablock full of variety
So below I featured Starflight by Melissa Landers. It's a rip roaring Sci-Fi adventure with a bit of romance (but of the Princess Leia and Han Solo variety from A New Hope). If you like your stories a little more realistic, take a look at Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I can't say too much without spoiling the plot but it's about a girl who's allergic to everything (think bubble girl) but then she meets a boy who moved in across the street and well...that changes things.
The Nest
This may not look like it but it's a creepy/horror story. With wasps.

NonFiction....where fiction turns into reality
Some other nonfiction not featured below but totally awesome: So You Want to Work with the Ancient and Recent Dead (I think the title sums it up). Or if you're interested in saving the planet, take a look at Space Junk. I promise you'll never look at the stars the same way again. Or how about some Motown? Rhythm Ride has all you need to get your groove on.
Graphic novels, comic books, manga...oh my!
So this is kind of lame, there are only three new graphic novels this month. But next month! Let me tell you about next month! There will be nineteen new additions. And I have some more Avatar by Gene Luan Yang coming.
Welcome!
