Anson Solem Science Scholarship

-Open to any Leelanau county graduate planning to pursue a degree in the science field.

This scholarship is available through the Leelanau Township Community Foundation.

Avacare Medical Scholarship

Sponsor: Avacare Medical

Amount: $1,000

Closing Date: December 15, 2019

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students who are/will be pursuing a degree in the medical field such as therapy, nursing, medicine, nutrition, laboratory science, dentistry, etc. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship

Closing Date: September 26, 2019

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time in an accredited graduate program in dental, medical (allopathic or osteopathic), pharmacy, nursing, public health or health policy. Applicants are not required to be Hispanic, however, an affinity for the health of Hispanic communities and an interest in NHHF Scholars Alumnus activities is required. Student must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent lawful resident, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Home Builders Association

- Must be a resident of one of the Five (5) Counties: Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau or Kalkaska Coutny.

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) established the MOAA Scholarship Fund in 1948 to provide educational assistance benefits to children of military families. Raymond Plaunt Maritime Memorial Scholarship

-Open to graduating seniors, current post-secondary students, non-traditional students, and those who have served in the military.

-Preference will be given to anyone from northern Michigan who is currently working in the maritime industry on the Great Lakes, or anyone from northern Michigan who served in the Navy, Marines or Coast Guard, and wants to return to school to pursue maritime studies.

Robert Paul Dost Scholarship Endowment

-Available to graduating high school seniors in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties who are planning to pursue electrical engineering. Preference will be given to students that are the son or daughter of a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 498.

The Bob Scholarship

- Must be a permanent resident within the geographic boundaries of the Northern Michigan District of the USTA/Midwest Section

- Must be actively participating in competitive tennis while in high school. Applicants are not required to play USTA tennis nor are they required to play collegiate tennis. Scholarship selection is not based on one's level of tennis achieved but on what kind of student/athlete/individual they are.

- Must submit a completed application packet with all requirements fulfilled.

The College Sports Recruiting Scholarship

- Up to 5 $1,000 scholarships each year

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest

Scholarship awards $1,000 per month to students who write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. Top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of each month and one winner is chosen to receive the $1,000 college Scholarship.
