Principal's Message
The fun continued this week at the complex. On Monday our preschool students had their "Water Day." They spent the day outside engaging in a variety of water activities. The students had an amazing time, and it was a great preview of summer days to come! A big thank you to preschool teacher Shamika Blue for spearheading this event. Thank you also to all the preschool teachers and the parent volunteers for their hard work to make this happen.
On Wednesday preschool had their field day. Kindergarten and first grade had theirs on Thursday and second and third grade had theirs on Friday. Field day consisted of thirteen different stations/activities for the classes to rotate through. Two of the stations were inflatables provided by Parents' Club, one a slide and one an obstacle course. These events would not have been possible without Preschool Master Teacher Katie Lind, all of the complex P.E. teachers, our Parents' Club, and all of our parent volunteers. A big thank you to all of them.
As we approach our last week of school it is hard to believe that we are almost there. We are looking forward to a fun last five days with our students. Just a friendly reminder that Wednesday-Friday will be abbreviated days. Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers in our school community. I know firsthand that this is one of the toughest jobs out there and I hope you all have a relaxing day with family. Take care.
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli

Author Visits Third Grade
Students from Ms. McGowan's third-grade class had an author visit their class on June 13th. Dr. Higgins-Barlatt, the author of The Adventures of the Busy Bees, delivered a copy of the book and a unique gift to each student. The book was dedicated to Mrs. McGowan's students as they picked the adventure for the book!

Who is Lynda Carty? Facilitator, fixer, organizer, mentor, cheerleader, teacher, counselor, wife, mother, and most importantly, friend. Over 39 years in education, Lynda has touched countless children’s lives, both inside the classroom and out. She has shaped minds, while touching the hearts of students, their families, and the staff. Lynda wears an invisible cape that anyone lucky enough to know her can see. She is so much to so many. She leads with a firm hand and a huge heart. Her colleagues say they are lucky to have worked for her and with her. In times of constant change, Lynda has been a constant. Lynda has been the anchor to the ship, and some say the lifeboat too! As Lynda embarks on this new adventure, we hope that she remembers that she made a difference in the lives of not only the students, but also her coworkers, peers, and friends. Lynda is appreciated for all that she has done. Her colleagues would like to thank her for making going to work feel like coming home. There will never be another Carty! Congratulations, Lynda!
