As we head into Thanksgiving break I want to let you all know that I am thankful for the tremendous teachers, students, staff and parents at Pioneer Ridge. Thank you all for your continued support, determination and grit to help the students at PRMS to continue to grow during this unique school year.

Thanksgiving break begins Wednesday November 25. Classes resume November 30.

Choice Remote Application Open

Parents interested in selecting “Choice Remote” for their child’s learning model for the second semester, beginning January 2021, may do so between November 18 and November 25 by clicking HERE.

Please give careful consideration to the selection of “Choice Remote” as this will be a commitment until May of 2021. The Second semester learning model begins on January 19, 2020.

All students will be placed in the standard enrollment model unless the application for “Choice Remote” is completed. The standard enrollment model is based off of the gating criteria and recommendations from the County and approval by the District.

What are you Thankful for?

November's Yearbook Theme ~

Get creative, take a picture, and share with us what you are thankful for. Please make sure that the wording is easy to read and the picture is clear...outside pictures are usually the best. Please submit your "Thankful" picture to Mrs. Hansen on or before Tuesday, November 25. Please make sure when emailing the picture to Mrs. Hansen that you provide her the students complete name and grade.

Next up for December's Theme...."Family Traditions" details will be given after Thanksgiving break.

Just a reminder... Although school meals are free for the 2020-2021 school year, students are still welcome to bring a lunch from home as they desire. Please note that although these students will still be permitted to purchase milk or juice ($0.55 each) to accompany their lunch from home, these individual items are not covered by the program. Only complete meals are available for free. Weekly balance reminders are sent to families whose students' account balances fall below zero due to these types of purchases.


Should you receive an automated call regarding your student missing a class, please call the office or email to advise of the reason and we'd be happy to update the attendance records accordingly. Thank you.


The Gardner Edgerton School District Technology Department will provide district tech support for our students who are working remotely. Non-emergency issues can be emailed anytime to

helpdesk@usd231.com. Time sensitive issues can be reported by phone from 8am-8pm on school days at 913-856-2020. Tech support will work with you to resolve technical challenges.

Should you have a broken Chromebook, please contact our school office at 856-3850, to schedule time for picking up a new one. Note - When returning your chromebook, please include charger as well.

USD 231 cannot provide internet services to families. A limited number of “hot

spots” are available for families, the application for a “hot spot” is available HERE.

Appointments Needed for Office Visits

Our school office is currently open and running on a limited schedule. We ask that you call ahead to make an appointment (913.856.3850). All visitors will be asked to wear face coverings during their appointment time. Thank you for your cooperation.
