2013 Fall Youth Programs
Lapsit Rhyme Time
Dates: Sept. 5, 12, 19 Oct. 3, 10, 17 Nov. 7, 14, 21 Dec. 5, 12, 19
Ages: 4 to 23 month olds with caregiver
These programs will be entertaining for the child and instructive for parents and caregivers. Developmental tips related to activities, stories and rhyme will be presented. Early literacy skills will be highlighted. Sign up is required and space is limited.
Dates: Sept. 6, 13, 20 Oct. 4, 11, 25 Nov. 1, 8, 15 Dec. 6, 13, 20
Ages: 2-3 year olds with a caregiver/parent
Children and parents come along and join the fun. Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and maybe a craft. Each week a different theme will be explored. Sign up for the 3 week sessions. Registration is required.
Dates: Sept. 3, 10, 17 Oct. 1, 8, 15 Nov. 5, 12, 19 Dec. 3, 10, 17
Ages: 4-5 year olds
Children will hear great stories and songs. Early literacy skills for learning to read will be introduced. Children may make a craft related to the story shared. Registration is required.
Lego Fun Club
Dates: Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5
Ages: 6 years and older
Bring your family and friends to build, create and have fun around a monthly theme. Registration NOT required.
Gingerbread House Making
Date: Wed. Dec. 11
Ages: K-6th grade
Children will make their own gingerbread house and enjoy a seasonal story. If willing to donate supplies find out from the Youth Department staff about what is needed. Sign up is required and begins on Nov. 22. Space is limited.
Battle of the Books
A voluntary reading program for 5th and 6th grade youth.
