The Power of Influence (Week 2) - Wednesday Night

Last week we looked at how influence is the thing which drives change in each of our lives and the importance of choosing what we allow to speak into our lives. In the end it will always change us, for good or bad. This week, we will be looking at how we often put those in leadership over us into the category of either awesome or lame. However, we are still able to learn something from those over us. it is up to each one of us to use that leaders influence in our lives for good or bad. Our passages this week are Romans 13:1; Proverbs 21:12; and 2 Samuel 1-12 for those who would like to read ahead. See you all there!!!!!

Evangelism in a Broken World

I read an artcle this weak on the brokeness of our world. The world is filled with brokeness at every turn, even in our privileged life here in the United States. Our culture tries to diagnos this broikeness as poor self-esteem, neurosis, addiction, anxiety, psychological wounding, and on and on. It isn’t that these issues aren’t a reality; but stopping at these lables is shortchanging the true essence of our brokeness, sin.

The art of evangelism, is in it's truest sense, an attempt to meet people where they are and offer them hope. it isn't about persuasion, or coersion but rather about empathizing with someone else's brokeness in the midst of our own. Left to do this on our own we would surely fail, but as believer's we have our hope in Christ and in the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. Look into the lives of those briken around you and offer them the hope that you have in Jesus Christ!!!! I have linked the article below for those who would like to read further.
