St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 8 | 10 SEPTEMBER 2020
Lord God,
Give us true faith, and make that faith grow in us day by day. Also give us hope and love, so that we may serve our neighbours according to your will; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.
Message form the Principal
We have a very busy end of term coming up. There will be assembly, athletics field day and sports carnival and our online Art Exhibition.
Please keep Mrs McDonald in your thoughts and prayers as her mother has passed away recently.
A reminder to families that there are still a significant number of school fees outstanding. Please finalise prior to the end of this term or advise the office of your payment plan for the remainder of the year.
Please note, students will finish this term, on Thursday 24 September and resume school on Monday 12 October. There is no pupil free day at the start of Term 4.
A reminder that families are still not able to attend assemblies and that assemblies will be available online for families to watch. We will advise how families can access the assembly online shortly.
The athletics carnival (Pre-Primary to Year 6) will be held next Friday. A reminder that there is a limit of one person per family attending at one any time. Parents and Carers must stay on the limestone walls and are not able to access the oval or the top playground due to the school having to meet social distancing requirements. Entry to the limestone walls is between Monsignor’s house and the Church.
Social media can be a wonderful platform through which young people stay connected, however, parents and carers should be discerning in deciding which platforms they allow their child/ren to use as well as when and where they have access to these platforms. Consider making a ‘social media contract’ which you create in collaboration with your child and which you both sign. In it your child should agree to protect their own privacy, consider their digital footprint (reputation), refrain from giving out personal information and ensure they are being kind to others.
Parents/Carers can also help their child/ren balance their activities by placing limits on social media and device use, including when and where children can access their devices and the internet.
