Project update
This week we will be launching our childhood cancer project called The Riley Project! This project is near to my heart. My daughter, Abbie, died from Ewings Sarcoma when she was 12 1/2. This is a type of bone cancer. We spent many years at Riley Children's Hospital. It was like our second home. An educator from Riley will be coming to the class to launch the project. I will share how great Riley was and how blessed I was to be Abbie's mommy. Mrs. Selbach will also come and talk to the students about her son's experience when he had cancer. The 2nd graders will be deciding how they would like to help the children and their families. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Parent Volunteers
Logging in to Google and Its Learning
If you would like to see all the hard work your child does at school you can login to their Google account or their Itslearning account from home. Considering winter is just around the corner this is very important to learn how to get around the Google world. Plus this is a great way to help your child. I'm sure they would love to share what they are learning!
Here is the pattern prior to this year (we will send you the login for new students):
first two digits are the child's graduating year (which for 2nd graders is 28)
then their last name and first initial
For example itslearning is 28brillr (some of these have different variations if the last name is a common name)
Google example 28brillr@students.bcsc.k12.in.us
Their password pattern is their six digit student identification number plus bcsc
All of the 2nd graders know their regular passwords for the other apps and learning tools, but if you need help please feel free to text me (812) 657-2335.
