From the Principal...
Dear Westbrook Families,
We are so fortunate to have a strong partnership with our parent-teacher organization (PTO). The PTO continues to thoughtfully and creatively find ways to support our students, families, and community. Below are just a few of the activities that are being planned by our PTO:
Lemons of Love - Lemons of Love is a non-profit organization that provides care packages and programming for people impacted by cancer. Westbrook is gathering items to support this organization. New items that can be donated included 24-pack of Crayola crayons, full-size coloring books, and superhero socks for kids. In addition, we are in need of “happy pictures” that are included in care packages. Your child can draw happy images (with no words) to brighten a child’s day! There is a box in the front of the school by Door 1 where donations and “happy pictures” can be dropped off.
Read Away - The PTO has partnered with Station 34 in Mount Prospect to incentive reading. Please see the attachments for more information!
Leapin’ into Literature - The PTO has generously purchased books for our LRC and will be helping to foster a love for reading for our young learners through our Leapin’ into Literature program where family members read stories to our first graders. More information to come!
These are just a few of the ways that our PTO has supported our students, families, and community. We meet regularly on the third Wednesday of each month. We encourage you to join us for our next PTO meeting, which will take place on March 17th over Zoom.
Meeting ID: 619 409 5866
We are also beginning to plan for next year! If you are interested in serving in a leadership capacity for our PTO, please email email@example.com with your interest or questions.
Thank you to all of our families who make Westbrook such a special place!
