#CelebrateMonday
September 24, 2018
Hopefully, if your Monday has started a little like Snoopy's, you've found your way to the coffee (or whatever your choice of fuel is) and you're starting to settle in and you're positive outlook on the day and the week have taken over!
At the beginning of the year we have that awesome and somewhat invincible feeling! We know we can do amazing things! We know we can make a difference! We know we will rock it as educators this year!
And then those weeks of August fade into September, and suddenly the grindstone appears, or status quo rears its ugly head.
While it may not always be easy, we MUST try to keep that beginning of the year spark! Not only do our students deserve that from all of us - but we deserve it, too! We deserve to come to school each day with that same sense of invincibility as we did when on the first day students crossed our threshold!
But if we are really intentional and mindful, we can steer clear of giving negativity attention, and we will find ourselves more at peace and maintaining that spark!
One way we can do that is by finding something that helps us to feel good and use it to launch our day! Do you have a positive, happy playlist?? If not, consider creating one! I mean, how can you avoid that invincible feeling when you listen to music that gets you moving like:
Find a song, or a video, or a quote, that fills you with positive energy and makes you want to move! Listen to it every day and see how it changes your outlook on the day! Build a playlist and share it with others (I'll gladly share mine and would love to hear what you have on yours!)!
If music isn't your thing (but how can it NOT be??) find what it is that will help you steer clear of responding to negativity and will help you maintain that spark (perhaps it's your "Why??"). Whatever it is - do MORE of that!
And while you're grooving to the beat, or whatever it is you choose to do, don't forget to make this the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
