School News and Updates

Principal Message

It has been surprisingly wet this week and as you know we had to cancel our Color Run. Luckily, many students still enjoyed some Zumba at recess time on Wednesday. We are expecting (hoping!) for better weather next week so we have planned to reschedule our Color Run for Thursday, May 23rd from 2:00-2:45 pm.

Open House is next Wednesday evening! This will be a great opportunity for your child to show the many things they have accomplished all year long. Coldstone Creamery will be here at 5:30 selling ice cream and classrooms will be open from 6:00-7:00 for students and parents. The Book Swap will also be happening outside the library and that will be a great opportunity to swap some of your books for new reading this summer. We hope to see you there!

Each year it requires many volunteers and coordinators to execute all the events, fundraisers and programs that make Sequoia an awesome place for children to learn and grow. We are starting now with the process of gathering volunteers that can help or run the various things that happen all year long. We welcome ALL parents who can donate a lot of even a small amount of time to check out the link below to see how you can become a bigger part of our school community. If you have a passion in a certain area and it's related to something you see on the list, reach out! We have needs and space for everyone who is interested in helping. I hope you have a great weekend!

A few reminders:

  • If your child goes to after care, a change of clothes is recommended.
  • The color is not meant to stain, but it may take a couple washes to come out of clothes completely.
  • There is a No Color Lane for those students who do not wish to run through the color stations.

Thank you to the Healthy Kid Committee for planning and executing this event and to SPC for sponsoring our Sequoia Color Run.
