Senior Class News
Attention Seniors:If you have not done so, please don't forget to sign-up for a quick photo opportunity to help capture and commemorate who you are as a person and the years you have invested as an East Hampton Bellringer. Photos are being taken at the high school by Trent Donohue (Maggie's dad) with the intent of compiling them into a product for display to our community. We have gotten a great response so far with 65 of you already signing up to participate. The goal is 100% participation from the senior class. Please make plans to participate in this wonderful project by clicking on the following link to learn more about the project and to sign-up to participate. If none of the available appointment times work for you, please contact Mr. Donohue at 860-918-8423 to arrange a day and time that will work for your schedule. Just a couple of the day 1 photos are included here.

News from the Nurses Office
Is anyone else excited to have sunshine and warm weather finally? I know I sure am! I have been enjoying sitting on my deck listening to the birds, watching squirrels scamper across the yard and feeling the sun on my face!
I just want to take a moment before you race outside to ride a bike, play hopscotch, take a walk or run or spend time gardening to review some safety tips for warm weather.
If you are around water either a pool, lake, river or ocean make sure kids are being supervised-it only takes a moment for drowning to happen. If you are on the water whether in a kayak, canoe, paddle-board or boat make sure you have the proper size life jacket on and secured.
Use sunscreen and reapply often if you are going to be outside. A floppy hat with a wide brim and sunglasses can be a fashion statement and help protect your skin and eyes too!
If you go out for a hike make sure you use bug spray to keep mosquitoes from snacking on you. And when you get back home do a tick check to make sure you aren’t carrying an unwanted friend around-especially in crevices-arm pits, elbows, back of knees.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and healthy. Higher temperatures outside increase the risk of dehydration. The general rule for a child (up to 100 pounds) for fluid replacement is to drink half their weight in water in the course of the day. Being very active or outside temps being hotter will change this of course.
Riding a bike is great exercise too. Just remember to wear a helmet that fits you and follow the rules of the road.
Summer nights can also involve fireworks. CT has specific regulations so make sure you know them and follow them. Read instructions carefully and never let young children touch or light fireworks.
Be safe, have fun and keep up the social distancing!
