News from Ms. Hess
In math this week we divided decimals by whole numbers using the standard algorithm. Today our minds were blown by discovering that 1.2 divided by 0.3 equaled a whole number 4! We used base 10 blocks to demonstrate why this is possible. Next week, we will explore multiplying out the decimal in the divisor using the standard algorithm.
In literacy, we continue to integrate our study of explorers into the New World. Ask your child if they are teaching from a Google slideshow they've created or quizzing the class from a Kahoot they have created. Next week, we will begin our presentations and start a new project!
In science, our plans to track the shape of the moon each night were foiled by our recent and prolonged cloud-cover (postponed until skies clear). We explored the relative size of our sun in relation to our planet and the moon as well as investigate the changes in the moon.
