Coaching Corner

Instructional Rounds and ENVoY Coaching Cycle
In order to learn from and grow with each other, all teachers will host Instructional Rounds a minimum of once per year and visit a hosting classroom a minimum of once per quarter.
What does this mean:
PLCs will visit classrooms. Teachers without a PLC will be paired with one.
When you host, you can expect 4-5 PLC members & a coach to arrive during a prearranged hour.
When you visit, your PLC will work with a coach to schedule a time to observe.
Fill out this form (https://forms.gle/r9c3bj35bARyqWL8A) if you have a preference for what hour you will host, if you would like positive feedback from observers, and to suggest possible “look-fors” in your classroom.
Do not fill out the form if you have no preferences and are comfortable hosting at any time.
To continue our professional growth with ENVoY, staff will participate in a minimum of 1 ENVoY coaching cycle per semester.
What does this mean:
A 20 minute observation during a class period or advisory.
A 10-15 minute debrief during prep or after school.
Each staff member will be contacted by an ENVoY coach to schedule an observation and debrief.
Staff Spawtlight: Cristi Satterstrom
Hola! I am most often called Mom or Profe but my name is Cristi Satterstrom. I was born and
raised in Janesville, WI. My Mom stayed home with us and then was an elementary teacher for 20 years. My Dad recently retired from the business IT world he had been a part of since the first computers were created. I graduated from Craig High in 1994 and UW-Madison with a B.A. in Spanish in 1998, having studied in Seville, Spain my junior year. I then spent one year in the Twin Cities and, after an extremely cold winter, I moved to Tempe, Arizona. Inspired by my HS Spanish teacher, I started teaching in 1999- the school year Columbine changed education and Colorado forever. I met my husband, Nils- a Vail, Colorado native, in Tempe in 2000 and we were there for 7 years. In that time we raised 2 fur babies, I got my teaching license, taught high school, coached swim, earned my M.Ed in Secondary Ed. in 2004 and we got married in Vail in 2005. Since then, we have been fortunate to live in several different places, including San Sebastian/Donostia Spain, and to grow our family to 4 humans. Madrid is 12 and will be in 7th grade at Kellogg and Anders is 7 and will be in 2nd grade at Churchill. We are a very sports oriented family and we are often racing around to a practice or game. If we are home there is usually a sport on in the background. We also love the outdoors, especially hiking and biking, and we are SO glad to be able to enjoy fires and the water again! I am happiest anytime the 4 of us are doing something together but when I have time for myself, I love to travel, SUP, read, cook, and binge-watch anything that is from Spain.
We spent the last 12 years in Colorado- 2 in the mountains and 10 in the Denver area. It is a
beautiful city with amazing weather, but too many people figured that out. We decided it was just getting too big, we were spending too much time in the car, and it was time to get back closer to family so, we looked at moving back to the midwest. On paper, Rochester looked ideal for many reasons! It is a great size with a lot of international influence and close to a big city. It is also between Nils’s family in the cities (his Dad is originally from North Branch, MN), his friends in the area from attending high school in Faribault, and my family that now lives in Waupaca, WI and has a lake cabin in Neshkoro. My husband runs his own business from home and I was lucky enough to get a job at JA, so we moved here on August 1st. We are excited for our new adventure! Thanks to everyone that has helped me learn the ropes at JA or just stopped in to room # 138 to say hi! We don’t really know anyone in Rochester and I am a one woman department so don’t hesitate to stop in, as I will greatly appreciate adult interaction! Go Jaguars! (And Packers, Badgers, Rockies, Avalanche, Wild, and Shattuck!)
