Student Technology Alert: Plan for Summer 2022 for Student Devices
Students will keep their devices at home for Summer 2022!
All students with a Student Tech Use Agreement on file for 2021-2022 will be keeping their assigned computing devices over the summer months to allow for continuous learning. Students and families are expected to take care of their assigned device by keeping it charged and in its bag when not in use. Students who are enrolled in NSD summer learning programs are expected to bring their device to summer programs each day.
If families need support using their device or troubleshooting technical issues through the summer, call 425-408-7631 or create a tech ticket at http://go.nsd.org/studenttechhelp.
Students withdrawing from NSD must turn in devices no later than June 15th.
Families who are withdrawing from Northshore are expected to return any technology devices assigned to their student, including computers, tablets, hotspots and all accessories such as bags and chargers. Withdrawing students who do not return their devices and accessories will be issued a fine for replacement. If a family withdraws from NSD and needs to return a device during the month of July when Kokanee is closed, please call 425-408-7631 and return your student’s device set to the NSD Administration Center.
**Families who wish NOT to keep a device over the summer need to complete this opt out form.
Families may not need or want to take their student’s device home over the summer. Families who wish to opt out of keeping their student’s assigned device will need to indicate that they are “opting out” by completing the form at NSD Student Device Summer Opt Out Form.
This form will help our staff to plan efficiently for sending devices home for summer learning. When students return to school in the Fall, any student who does not have an assigned device will be assigned one for school-year learning.
Families traveling out of the country who want access to NSD apps while away must submit a tech ticket at http://go.nsd.org/studenttechhelp.
Include student #, country traveling to, departure date, and return date.
If a family needs tech support over the summer, who should they contact?
The first point of contact should be any teacher or staff member who is working with that student through summer programming. If that staff member is unable to help, the family can call 425-408-7631 or start a tech ticket at http://go.nsd.org/studenttechhelp.
Fall 2022: Students will bring their device back on the first day of school.
Students will bring their device set back on the first day of school, August 31, 2022. If a student moves schools within NSD, they will bring their device to their new NSD school.
Rising 2nd graders will bring their assigned iPad (from 1st grade) back to school, and will then be swapped to a Chromebook for 2nd grade learning.
