Kids Heart Challenge
Earlier in the week, you received a fundraising pamphlet for the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. This has replaced the AHA's Jump Rope For Heart. The fundraising concepts are similar to the Jump Rope For Heart. Thank You Gifts will be provided for those who choose to participate in the fundraiser, which is optional. If you do chose to participate in the fundraiser, donations are due by Friday, January 24.
Throughout the month of January, to celebrate the Kids Heart Challenge, we will be doing various high-intensity activities that promote good heart health, kindness, and teamwork in gym class.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Gross at wgross@soudertonsd.org.
Knitting and Crocheting Club for 4th and 5th Graders
Students who are interested should bring their own knitting needles, crochet hooks and respective yarn. For beginners, choose size 15 or 13 knitting needles or size K, L or M crochet hooks and yarn that works with those sizes. Check the packaging for guidelines or ask someone in the store for assistance.
If you are a knitter or someone who crochets, please let Mrs. Lightstone know if you can periodically assist. Clearances are necessary past 10 hours of volunteering. To contact Mrs. Lightstone, email melightstone@soudertonsd.org.
Substitute Cafeteria/Recess Aides Needed
Vernfield Elementary School is looking for parents who are available to serve as substitute recess and cafeteria aides. Substitute aides are called to serve during a situation where a daily recess or cafeteria aide calls out.
Substitute aides are paid for serving in this position.
Please contact Mrs. Smerecki at nsmerecki@soudertonsd.org, if you are interested in being added to Vernfield's substitute recess and cafeteria aide list.
