Wrightstown Elementary School
May 28, 2021
Dear WES Families,
As we head into the holiday weekend I would like to wish all families a fun and relaxing Memorial Day! With the final weeks of school remaining, many plans are being made to celebrate the end of the school year! This is always an exciting time for students and we look forward to this time together. Teachers and staff will continue with planned instruction and Raven Ready expectations for work and behavior. Students' demonstration of resilience during this unusual and challenging school year has been extraordinary! We couldn't be more proud as we all work to finish the year strong!
If you haven't done so already, please submit the 2021-2022 enrollment registration for your child, as the deadline of June 1st is fast approaching. This should be completed for each child currently in kindergarten through fifth grade. One email was sent per child with a unique registration link for each student. If you have any questions or did not receive an email, please contact me so that I can assist you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Beth

2021-2022 New Student and Returning Student Registration Information
Council Rock School District is actively registering K-12th grade students for the 2021-2022 school year. As a reminder, K-6 students entering the District must be registered before June 1st to secure placement in their home school. This includes families who utilized charter schooling, homeschooling, or private schooling this year but intend to return to Council Rock next school year.
Chromebook Collection
The district-wide plan for the collection of Chromebooks from K-6 Elementary students is as follows:
- Library assistants will be collecting Chromebooks and chargers from in-person students on the last day students have library class this year. This will occur the week of June 7th.
- Students who are currently 100% virtual will be asked to return their Chromebooks, chargers, and any textbooks/curriculum materials on Friday, June 11th between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tables will be set up in the vestibule area for drop-off.
A note from Mrs. Etgen
We are wrapping up our May reading incentive with the amazing goal of 110,000 minutes. Have your child log his or her minutes at this link. Mrs. Fox has graciously agreed to get a pie in her face and our top reader is going to do it!! Please remember if your child is chosen as one of the top readers, we will send home a form in order to attain a parent signature on the reading log.
We are also celebrating our April Incentive - the Reading Beach Party - on June 3rd. Students will need to bring a towel, a water bottle, and of course, a book, into school that day! Students are invited to dress in their beach/Hawaiian gear! Please note that because of allergy issues, the snack on that day will be a soft pretzel instead. We hope that these reading incentives have been helpful in encouraging your child to read during this school year! Before the end of the school year, I will be sharing other ideas for families to continue reading over the summer! Stay tuned!!
Counselor's Corner with Ms. Gulnac
This school year has brought many unprecedented experiences, thoughts, feelings and challenges for students and parents alike. Before you pack up for the shore and leave this year behind, take some time to reflect with your kid(s). See the questions below to get the conversation started! Consider having your kid(s) write down their answers.

Class End of the Year Outdoor Celebrations
Teachers and Homeroom parents are hard at work planning class end-of-year outdoor celebrations. We of course will continue to implement the district’s Health and Safety Plan to ensure safe and comfortable events for all. Below I highlighted a few things to know that has also been shared with HR teachers:
- All parents and siblings can attend end-of-year classroom celebrations that are held outdoors only.
- Parents will sign in and take a visitor’s badge from tables that will be located outside the front of the building.
- Food should be individually wrapped or plated and handed out by parents only.
- Bathroom use is restricted to students and staff only.
- The Health & Safety Plan should be followed.
Move Up Day - June 7th
This year our Move Up Day will occur during student lunch periods. The next grade level teachers will visit the cafeteria to share about students' rising grade level and to answer any questions. Students participating 100% virtually will be provided a link to view the recorded sessions. First-grade teachers will visit the Kindergarten room sometime during this week. Mrs. Stahl will share the date (once scheduled) with parents.
News from the Library
Book selection has ended for this school year. All checked-out library books are due by June 7th.
A Message from the Nurse
Hello parents! Below please see the attached form for reference as you make those doctor’s appointments this summer! It is a quick guide to let you know what we need and when we need it. Please have all forms sent in prior to the first day of school. Also, stay tuned for instructions on medication pick-up day. Remember that we cannot store medications over the summer.
Thank you!
KINDERGARTEN & NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION
Council Rock School District utilizes a secure online portal for parents to enroll their kindergarten-age child. Children must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st for the school year you are registering. Click the link below to start the kindergarten registration process for your child.
If you have a new student coming to Wrightstown Elementary next year, please be sure to register your child by June 1st. If you register by this date, your child will definitely attend WES. Please let any neighbors know who may not be receiving CR information.
If you happen to register after 6/1 for a grade level that is already at maximum capacity, your child may need to attend another Council Rock School.
