The staff and I are also working to coordinate the final details for our Grade 5 celebration. We will be sending further communication next week with more information!

JFK Virtual Olympics
Congratulations to all that participated in the first ever "Virtual Kennedy Olympics Field Day" Mr. Sasin received many pictures and videos back of students participating in the events. Great job! It was so nice to see so many families moving and having fun together! You can still forward him pictures or post on social media if you'd like using the hashtags #cantonwellness #NationalFieldDay. Mr. Sasin created a powerpoint presentation with some of the submissions. You can see how some of the Kennedy community participated at this link:
GRADE 5 Mile Challenge
GRADE 5 Mile Challenge- Every year at the Kennedy School Grade 5 participates in the “Grade 5 Mile”. This is an opportunity for all 5th graders to experience running a mile before going into Middle School. The focus is always on student participation and individual challenge. This year, we will be doing a “Virtual 5th Grade Mile”. It would be great for all of the 5th graders to participate, whether you are a speedy runner or a slower walk/jog participant. To participate, use a GPS tracker to keep your time and distance. There are many free apps out there such as Nike app, Health App on Apple products, Adidas app, runkeeper, Fitbit, etc. If you don’t have access, then you could do 4 laps at the High School track and keep your time with a stopwatch. Once you finish, take a picture of yourself and your mile time/ tracker and post it to the below link:
Mr. Sasin will be creating a powerpoint so you can see all those that participated and finished their mile. Remember it’s about participation, so don’t get overly worried about your time! I encourage you to have other family members participate with you. Jogging is a great lifelong activity that can help keep you fit for many years to come. You may want to do some jumping jacks and a quick stretch before to get loose. Be sure to be safe and have fun! Good luck.
