Dear East Ramapo Community,
As the 2021-22 school year draws to a successful close, we invite you to participate in a host of ERCSD school celebrations, academic recognition events and commencement ceremonies which are detailed in this Roundup Notes newsletter. Our educators and support staff continue to inspire students, prepare them for the future and build excitement for lifelong learning.
We are disappointed that our 2022-23 budget was not approved by our community last week. Our administrative team will address the next steps and be in communication with our school community soon.
Be sure to take a moment this Memorial Day Weekend to honor those who served our nation and are no longer with us. I hope you enjoy the extended weekend, and we look forward to welcoming the students back to school on Tuesday, May 31st.
Dr. Clarence G. Ellis
Superintendent of Schools
Another Successful Spring Fling Coordinated by the Family Resource Center
On Saturday April 30, about 3,000 members of the East Ramapo Community attended the Family Resource Center's Annual Spring Fling to enjoy the music and games, food trucks, a bouncy house, dancing and more. So many free giveaways for our families. Special thanks to all of our partners including the Health Department, the Mounted Police Foundation of Rockland, Ramapo Police Department, Spring Valley Police Department, Spring Valley Fire Department, Spring Hill Ambulance Corp, Opportunity Now, and the Village of Spring Valley. Spring Valley police even conducted child seat safety checks!
Learning Walk at ECC Kakiat S.T.E.A.M. and Fleetwood
This month, students and staff warmly welcomed the East Ramapo Leadership team into their ECC, Kakiat S.T.E.A.M. and Fleetwood classrooms over the past week.
These visits to our elementary, middle and high schools are important because they help the Executive Cabinet gain a strong understanding of building needs, spend time with administrators, teachers and students, observe the learning targets, student engagement, and differentiated instruction in a blended environment.

East Ramapo Celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6
During National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6, 2022), East Ramapo paid tribute to all of the teachers who empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to reach their potential and achieve their dreams. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and teachers are critical in getting the children ready for their future.
Teacher Appreciation celebrations took place across the district. Whether it was a delicious breakfast in the break room, a bouquet of flowers delivered to the classroom, or a heartfelt letter written to that out-of-this-world teacher, our teachers enjoyed the collective hug!
Thank you, East Ramapo Central School District Teachers, for your dedication, determination and resilience. You are truly making a difference.
