The Middleborough Mariner

September 2020

A Note from Mrs. Basignani

Dear Middleborough Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! While the start of this school year has been unlike any other, it has been truly amazing! Our students, our staff, and you, our families, have been incredible! We know that students are still building their stamina for the school day, which is typical for the start of any school year. Building stamina in the virtual setting is even more challenging. I've encouraged students to find a time each day to go outside, even if it is just for a few minutes. Fresh air, sunlight, and physical activity make a huge impact on their focus and well-being. Try to take advantage of the school-wide break from 11:45 - 12:45 to allow kids to be kids! :)

Thank you for all that you do to support the success of Middleborough Elementary. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you all and how grateful I am to be a Mariner during this time! Here's to a fabulous year!

Sincerely,

Jamie Basignani

Principal

Building Virtual Learning Stamina

Building in "Brain Breaks" during the day for your child is important for their overall well-being. A good rule of thumb is to look away from the screen for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. Brain breaks are crucial for students' focus and mental energy. Check out the graphic below for more tips on managing virtual learning.
