How courageous are you?
What we can learn about courage from Terry Fox and others
Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope
Courage is defined as the ability to do something, even if one is afraid or in pain. Terry Fox demonstrated courage during both his battle with cancer, and his Marathon of Hope. During his campaign to raise money for cancer research, Terry ran on average a marathon a day. Terry knew first hand what it was like to live with cancer, and he wanted to raise money so that others would not have to experience what he did. Despite the challenges he faced, Terry remained very courageous, even after he had to cut his marathon short because the cancer had spread to his lungs. Although cancer eventually took Terry's life, he demonstrated courage until the very end.
