Navigating Futures: Students Gain Insight and Inspiration at Career Expo Day
Ms. Manda Meese, Diversified Occupations Teacher at the High School, organized the annual Career Expo that was held on Friday, Nov. 10th. There where 20 businesses and/or post-secondary institutions in attendance, and every student from grades 9-12 got the opportunity to attend. Students learned about various careers, opportunities, and what it takes to work at the various businesses. Students were able to make personal connections with the business representatives and ask them questions specific to their jobs. It was a great learning experience for students, and they were able to leave with informational material from the business tables. The businesses were impressed with the questions that students asked and how engaged our students were!

Employee Spotlight - AWESOME Buildings & Grounds Staff
We are so very grateful for the AWESOME employees in our Buildings & Grounds Department! They do so much for everyone at the District and are typically behind the scenes, or front and center during those unfortunate classroom accidents. We've been introducing four to five of them each month on our website and we have four new introductions now available on the website under Facilities. It's a great way to learn a little about each of them. Be sure to check them out by clicking the image below.
Students Spread Joy with Holiday Cards for Children in the Hospital
The Middle School Student Council held a holiday card drive to send cards to kids that are hospitalized during the holiday season. While Student Council members made cards during their meetings, they also opened this opportunity up to homerooms in the Middle School and received over 200 cards to send to hospitalized children! As a Student Council, they want to ensure that they are reaching members of the community and beyond, and what better way than through a holiday card to someone that needs cheering up! 'Tis the Season!
Bridging the Gap: Class Welcomes Local Legislator for Insightful Dialogue
Ms. Emily Corcoran's and Mr. Raul Urrunaga's government courses came together for a visit with PA House Representative Seth Grove. Rep. Grove currently serves West Manchester Township, Dover, and Spring Grove areas. The students were very excited to talk with Rep. Grove about his role in the PA Legislative Branch. They were able to ask questions and reflect on the curriculum covered in class. Rep. Grove was very excited to hear from us as well! We look forward to having more guest speakers in the future.
