Field Day @ Eaton High School
Students should wear tennis shoes, and they should bring a change of clothes, towel, and "Goldfish & Gatorade" or other snack/drink for the end of the day. We will finish the day with the traditional 5th grade "fireworks" behind the school.
What's Happening...
In the Classroom:
Language Arts - We started a new project called "Texas Staycation". Students are collaborating to create a website to persuade an audience to travel to a Texas city and to provide them with itinerary options. Ask your student to share the site with you! Have them explain their research and how they are creating the site.
Math - Students are working through their Financial Literacy project, where they are choosing a career, housing, and car. Then, they are creating a monthly budget. Your child may have questions about how you budget and what expenses you may have around the house. Use this time to talk to them about the importance of saving, budgeting, and what you use financial institutions for.
Science - As we continue learning about plant and animal adaptations, students are creating a bird and plant that can survive on a fantasy planet. Students are expected to use their creativity and give reasons how the adaptation will help them survive.
Social Studies - Staycation Project
