Greek Imigration to Texas
By Pragat Muthu
Map of Greece
Greek people typically colonized around the church or social societies like San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Galveston,Waco, Austin, Wichita Falls, El Paso, Port Arthur, and San Angelo. The reason why they came to Texas, rather than somewhere else, is the economy was new and getting a job was easy.

Important Greek People
Another one of these great men was Reverend Theoclitos Triantafilides. He was the reverend for the first Orthodox church in Texas. He was born in Athens, Greece and received his theological training in Russia. By the end of his life he was a archimandite. That is the highest order a priest can get. This man was very dedicated to the small church in Galveston. Though he was offered many other higher preaching jobs he did not accept them.
- Democracy came from Athens
