Principal's Note: Happy Thanksgiving

We enjoyed our First Grade Sing today!!! Thank you to our first grade staff: Mrs. Ciral, Ms. Genette, Mrs, Funke, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Carly, Ms. Kim, Mrs. Tortorello, Mrs. Tuegel, and Mrs. Walsh. Thank you to Mr. Luce for helping prepare our stage and set. Thank you to Ms. Grace for helping organize our performance. Thank you to Mrs. Donelan for helping us make our Party Turkeys. Thank you to the 5th grade Set Design Club for creating the stage decorations. Thank you to all of our 1st graders for your performance! Last but certainly not least, a BIG thank you to our music teacher, Ms. Polyack!!! The show was fantastic!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful for Sherwood's supportive community, incredible staff and our AMAZING students!

All schools in the North Shore District will engage in outdoor recess unless temperatures are at or below 15 degrees (including wind chill) or if there is precipitation (not including light snow). Students will also be allowed to come into our buildings before school when the temperature is at 15 degrees or below including wind chill.

Please remind your child to bring the following winter gear if s/he would like to play in the snow during recess:
  • Jacket
  • Boots
  • Snow pants
  • Gloves
  • Hat

2nd Posting: Congressman Schneider 2019 Holiday Card Competition

Congressman Brad Schneider is hosting a holiday greeting card competition open to all fourth and fifth-grade students in NSSD112 and the Tenth Congressional District. The winning artwork will be used as the cover design for my annual Holiday Card. There are no size restrictions, as the winning artwork will be scaled to fit the card cover. This year’s holiday card theme is “Family Traditions”. All submissions are due by Monday, December 2, 2019, and the winner will be announced in early December. All entries should be dropped off at his Lincolnshire office located at 111 Barclay Blvd, Suite 200, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.
