Teacher Appreciation Week - May 3-7

Join the JES PTO in thanking our teachers. We will be celebrating our annual teacher and staff appreciation week May 3-7. This year the theme is Survivor: JES! The JES PTO has planned a week of meals, treats, and prizes. Below is an itinerary of daily events along with suggestions of ways students can contribute to the fun of rewarding our teachers and staff with the appreciation they deserve! The ideas are all optional suggestions. Added details for DVA families will be emailed next week. If you have other ideas or would like to show your appreciation to teachers and staff in different ways - please feel free!

Be the Difference!

We are partnering with SASO (Scholars and Athletes Serving Others) of Southlake to replenish the stock for the Battered Women's Foundation in North Richland Hills. The demands of the last year has really created a need, sadly... Thank you SASO for seeing a need and inviting us to partner with them!

May 3 – 14, we will be collecting donations to support families in need. Please bring to the library any of the following:

  • New towels
  • Gently used women’s / teen clothes
  • New packages of underwear for boys/girls of all ages
  • Bottled water
  • Capri suns and juice boxes
  • Individual snacks for kids

Library Books

May 3-7 is the last week to check out library books (last library class and check-out). All books are due back May 14th (with the exception of 3rd graders taking STAAR needing a book for after their test).

End of Year Activities

Many of you are probably wondering what end-of-year activities will look like at JES. We are doing our best to make plans but we also know that these plans could change. For that reason, we are waiting until May 3rd to communicate information regarding Field Day, Kindergarten Graduation, 4th Grade Graduation, and 4th Grade Clap-Out. Thank you for your understanding.

Save-the-Date: May STAAR Testing

Please save the dates for May STAAR Testing. Students will take their content area tests with their content area teacher (i.e. their math teacher will give the math test and reading teacher will give the reading test). These tests will be delivered online.

  • May 12th - 3rd and 4th Grade DVA Homeroom Content Area & Ms. Luft Reading
  • May 13th - 4th Grade Switch Content Area
