I am very excited to announce the beginning of Phase 2 of our return to in-person learning and the return of our students currently enrolled in our Structured Learning Program! The students that participate in this program will have the option to be onsite two half days per week.
Phase 3 of our return to in-person learning is yet to be determined, however will likely target our preK and kindergarten students. For more information on our phase in approach and tentative details of our plan, please visit our Return to On-Site Learning Phase-In Plan. In addition to our formal plan, some of the risk mitigation upgrades, improvements, protocols, and plans can be found in our COVID Precautions slide deck.
Exclusion Day
This year District 34 is requiring that the State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination and all immunizations required by the state be received by October 15th in order for your student to avoid exclusion. This paperwork is required for all preK and new students to the district. Scheduled medical appointments are NOT acceptable in lieu of the required physical examination. If we do not have these these documents by October 15th, your child will not be able to continue participating in our preK program. Please submit these forms by emailing or delivering them to our office.
Please read below if your child has been prescribed respiratory medications.
Respiratory Medications in School During Pandemic
The current guidelines for schools advise the use of spacers with inhalers and to avoid the use of nebulized medications. Additionally, students who are self-carrying their inhalers will need to go to the health office to use their inhaler in order to prevent the potential spread of infectious disease. In an emergency situation students are encouraged to use their self-carry inhaler and then report to the nurses office. Please see the our Use of Respiratory Medications During Pandemic guidance for additional details. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your school’s health office.
