SVT & STEM Newsletter

October 2022

Katie's Message:

We have made it to October and officially welcomed fall, although it seems summer is hanging on tightly! Things are in full swing here at SVT. It is remarkable how amazing our students and staff are that they are able to hit the ground running. Our Advanced Engineering students hosted a booth at the Valleyfest STEAM Showcase and then shared their knowledge with our 10th and 12th grade students who hosted the first ever SVT Rocket Camp on Saturday, October 1st! Students and campers had a BLAST!

As a staff we have worked hard to focus on creating a sense of belonging for students and will continue that work throughout the year. We hope your student has had a positive start to the year, and know that we are here to support them as best we can. Your student was given a brief survey for input about potential classes or areas of interest. In mid-October they will be provided an opportunity for more official feedback in the form of the Panorama Survey. This allows us to hear from students about how they are feeling here at SVT and make necessary adjustments to enhance the SVT experience for all. Be on the lookout for a letter with more details outlining the survey.

We asked our staff at the start of school to list words and phrases about what SVT means to them and why they choose to work here each day. Below are the word bulbs that were created with their responses. Ask your student what they agree with or might add. We hope that their time at SVT shines as brightly as it does for us.

Bright Regards,

Katie Louie
