A Message from Mrs. Caudill
It is with great sadness (for us) and excitement (for her) that I announce the retirement of Mrs. Beth Fritz, Amerman secretary. Mrs. Fritz affectionately known as Fritzy by the Amerman staff, has worked for Northville Public Schools for the last 20 year, 17 of them at Amerman. While here, she has worked in every role except teacher. Mrs. Fritz has been a lunch/recess aide, building para, classroom para, special education para and MTSS para before moving into her current position in the front office five years ago.
Mrs. Fritz will be known for her hard work, integrity, BIG hugs, genuine love for children, seemingly endless energy, and the ability to solve almost any problem. To say she will be missed is an understatement. However, I am excited to announce that we have hired Mrs. Jessica Winne as our new full-time secretary. Mrs. Winne currently works part-time in the Thornton Creek front office. During the interview process it was evident she was the perfect person to fill our void. Mrs. Winne will be working with Mrs. Fritz in the front office the last few weeks of school to get to know the Amerman staff, students, parents and community.
One thing of note - While Mrs. Fritz is ready to begin this new chapter and take on the role of caring for her 92 year old father, she cannot talk about leaving Amerman without getting emotional. Please know your good wishes are welcome, but please understand if she cannot say much in return.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

Leader in Me Parent Survey
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School we are always working on continuous improvement. Each year we ask parents to take a short survey. These surveys are used to annually collect, analyze, and report student, staff, and school-level outcomes related to the focus on improving leadership, culture, and academics. They help us identify our strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress. Please complete the survey below. All of your responses are completely anonymous. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
Speaking of being a Lighthouse School, I am excited to announce that we were just recertified as a Lighthouse School! This certification is good for another two years. Thanks to our students, staff and community for all their support. Without us working together to strengthen leadership within, this would not be possible.

May Focus: Integrity! Habit 8: Find your Voice!
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of May is Integrity and our Habit of the Month is Habit 8: Find you Voice!
This month’s Habit: Habit #8 - Find your Voice
What this means: Find your voice means finding something that you are good at and like doing. You are proud, but do not boast. Instead, you use your expertise to help and inspire others.
Physical: Learn your true nature and gifts, then use them to envision what you can achieve.
Social/Emotional: We all have a purpose and special talents.
Mental: Transcend the negative culture of ego, scarcity, comparison, and competitiveness.
Spiritual: Be a catalyst to the success of something bigger than ourselves.
What I can do:
- Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
- Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
- Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
Great Books for Habit #8- Find Your Voice
- Wonder by: R.J. Palacio
- The Lion Inside by: Rachel Bright
- Separate is Never Equal by: Duncan Tonatiuh
- Wonderland by: Barbara O'Connor
- Those Shoes by: Maribeth Boelts
