Safety Drills
We will be holding an ALICE drill this week during M-Block. We will activate our internal communication system and encourage everyone to treat this as a real threat, however, we will not be using any actors for this drill. While we recognize that this can be unnerving for some students, we know that by practicing these drills throughout the year, we can isolate any issues that may exist in the event of a real emergency.
Tiered Focus Monitoring Review
Please follow this link to a letter describing more about the process and opportunities for community involvement from our Asst. Supt. of Student Services, Ms. Lynne Bennett.
Year End Assements
Also important to note, If we have additional snow days, the assessment calendar will shift to align with the final four days of the school year.
METG Finals!

Sights and Sounds of Learning
AP Spanish and Art History Field Trip
The AP Spanish students, accompanied by the Art History students, had a great time exploring the exhibit “From the Andes to the Caribbean-American Art from the Spanish Empire” (the Latin American reaction to Spanish conquering of their lands). They were able to explore all floors of the museum, seeing incredible artwork from various countries, styles and time periods.
The AP students will include this information in their Hispanic art/American art cross-cultural comparison presentations at the end of the month. I don’t have great shots of the kids, but I didn’t want to disturb them while they were taking notes, observing and trying to interpret the artwork. Also here is the link to the exhibit -

TTC Prom Reminders
Adolescence is a time of growth, change, memorable experiences, experimentation and risk. Communication is key to helping your teen make good decisions and keep them safe. With prom just around the corner, this is a good time for parents and caring adults to talk with teens about how to celebrate safely. Tri-Town Council and our youth substance use prevention Coalition - a community wide partnership whose focus is to prevent and reduce youth substance use and promote and grow healthy positive youth norms - have put together a list of information and resources to support parents/caregivers in talking with their kids about celebrating these milestones safely.
MassHealth Updates
Check out the Morning Update. There are many announcements for all grades this week, be sure to check it out.
This edition of the Chieftain Chronicle features stories about health classes, the ski team and more!
Between March 20th-24th, all students in the Class of 2025 will be participating in the Sophomore Career Exploration Program with the school counselors during regularly scheduled history classes. Through the program, school counselors will help students to connect interests with potential careers and college/training programs. There will be one group session in the classroom, as well as a follow-up individual appointment with the student’s school counselor for a personalized progress review and glance ahead to future planning.
