Community Activity: Family Night at House of Boom
Monday, January 7th from 6:00PM-9:00PM House of Boom located at 100 Urton Ln 40223 (Middletown) is having a family night. Bring your entire family (immediate family only) for an hour for only $35.00. What a great way to get out of the house and get rid of the wiggles after school!
This is a community event and not connected with SCPS.

Soup Sharing
Bring a pot of your favorite homemade soup and the recipe to the Shelby County Extension Office on Wednesday, January 16th at 12:00PM. Soups can be an excellent way to stretch your food dollars! You will be able to taste many types of soup and recieve all of the recipes in a Soup Recipe Booklet later. If you can't bring a pot of soup please join us anyway and enjoy the variety of soups for a small donation to the Ovarian Cancer Screening Research Project that Soup Sharing is donating toward.
You will have many new soup recipes to prepare to warm up your family and friends! If school is closed on January 16th due to inclement weather the Soup Sharing will be held on January 17th at noon.

Cooking Under Pressure
Electric pressure cooking pots have become increasingly popular. Join the Shelby County Extension Office for Cooking Under Pressure at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 23rd. You will see demonstrations and sample several recipes prepared for you using the electric pressure cooker!
Seed Swap
Bring your seeds and join the Shelby County Extension Office for their first annual Seed Swap from 12:00PM to 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 23rd. Bring seeds of open-pollinated (non-hybrid) vegetables, flowers and fruits to share. You will also learn how to properly save and store seeds.
February is Heart Health Month: Go Red Heart Health Luncheon
On Friday, Febuary 1st you are invited to attend the FREE Go Red for Heart Health Luncheon from 11:30AM to 1:00PM at the Shelby County Extension Office. Guest speakers will share information on keeping your heart healthy. Door prizes! Gifts! Mini-health fair! Blood pressure Checks!
