Nourishment for the mind-

Library Resources 24/7

While none of us could have imagined a situation like this, our library resources are available remotely for students and staff to access when we are not in school. We will highlight some of these in future newsletters. However here are links to our previous newsletters that discuss the following resources: Flipster (magazines), databases, and newspaper resources. All of these are available now at lancerlibrary.org.

If you are looking for something or have any questions, please email lancerlibrary@lphs.org and one of us will get back to you shortly.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram (LPLancerLibrary) and Twitter (@LPLancerLibrary) for updates and information as well.

Take care and be well, Lancers!

E-Books and Audio Books through SORA

Lake Park has a selection of books available to all Lake Park students and staff. We recently added some new selections. There are audio books as well as digital print books. Please follow these directions to access them.

1. Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to https://soraapp.com.

2. In Sora, find your Lake Park High School- East Campus (even if you are at West Campus), then sign in using Google Log-in.

3. Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

4. Close the book and go to your Shelf to see all your books. From there, you can:

  • Click or tap Open Book or Open Audio book to read or listen to the book.

  • Click or tap Options to renew or return the book, get to your notes and highlights, and more.

If you need more help with Sora, please visit Sora Help.

This presentation can help walk you through signing up as well.

Junior Library Guild Access to E-Books

One of our vendors, Junior Library Guild, has also opened up some of their collection for unlimited use. While they do not have as wide of a selection as Sora, they have books available for high school as well as middle and elementary school. Just click on the link and scroll down to access the books. No login is required.
