First Day Of School August 20th

The first day of school is a full day, 7:45-2:45. You will be able to walk your child up to the Kindergarten outside entrance this coming Thursday, Friday, and Monday as seen on the Drop off Map. Stay in the right lane to allow buses to enter in the left lane. This is for quick drop off as the line will be forming. Teachers will be at the entrance to receive students at 7:15.If dropping off before 7:15 you will need to use gym entrance. If you feel you will need to be available longer to help your child move inside make sure to park and walk to the entrance. On Tuesday you will join our regular car rider drop off line at the gym entrance. You may also park at the adjacent churches and walk your kindergartner to the main, gym, or kindergarten entrance. We will have someone available to make sure they get to their class. Teachers will be working with Kindergartners to orientate them to the school and know how to get to class on their own.

Water Fill Stations

Water filling stations are located in each hallway. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school everyday to stay hydrated. We ask that the water bottles are taken home each day to be cleaned. The fountains are capped off to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Cups will be placed above each station for use.

Lunch Boxes

Make sure you send your child with a spoon if you packed their lunch. The nutrition department provides utensils for students who have purchased a meal. The school will have spoons available, made through personal donation, to hand to students as requested.

If your child forgot their lunch box please have it to school before 10:30. It will help us get it to them on time for lunch. Only prepared meals are being allowed, no deliveries or fast food drop offs are being accepted.

Lunch Account (They can have limits set)

I was in the cafeteria the other day when I heard a student ask for FIVE bags of chips. I asked the student if he thought his mom wants him eating five bags of chips for lunch. The student replied no and moved on with one. If the student had wanted to buy all five bags I could not have stopped him, but you can set limits for your child. If you want to avoid your child buying the whole class ice cream with the money you just deposited for the month make sure you visit this website and learn how to limit funds on Skyward.

Click here for information on online payments and limits to meal purchases.

Physicals and Shot records

For incoming Kindergarten students and all new students to PVES (BOTH-Virtual AND Traditional)- We will need a shot record verifying up to date immunizations and proof of physical dated within the last year. These will need to be documented on a Tennessee Department of Health Certificate of Immunization signed by your child’s doctor or local health department. The records can be sent to school with your student or faxed to 615-746-8215.

Proof of exemptions, for religious conflict or medical reasons, must also be documented on a Tennessee Department of Health Certificate of Immunization also signed by your child’s doctor or local health department.
