Checking In!

Ms. Kodumthara's 5th Grade ELA

Last Note from Ms. Kodumthara

I can't believe we are at the end!

I know this is not how any of us imagined ending the school year -- I know I certainly didn't! It makes me sad to look at my planbook and see all the lessons that I didn't get to teach, the novel study we didn't get to do on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the projects we didn't get to make, and the end-of-year races/activities we didn't do in my class! I'm going to be sad when I get my yearbook and it is blank because my students weren't here to sign it before they left. All of it breaks my heart, and I wish things were ending differently.

Unfortunately, we were thrown a curveball, but we got through it! I cannot thank all of you enough for working so hard at home to try and maintain some sense of normalcy. I appreciate everything you've done for our class this year whether it was providing Chlorox wipes at the drop of a hat, attending conferences, or after school activities, but most of all for supporting your kids at home!

To my 5th (now 6th graders!), I know this stinks! I know you wish you could be with your friends (even those who prefer learning at home ;)). I know that this isn't fun and not what you REALLY want. But, I hope you know how proud I am of you and how I will miss ALL of you! It's been so much fun watching you all grow from the first day to who you are now. I will miss your jokes, your silliness, your writings, your stories, your kindness, your different personalities, and YOU. I know you will all do great in 6th grade! Make me proud!

Make sure you KEEP READING!

I can't wait to see you all again, hopefully, in August!

Until then,

Stay safe!
