Because Titans Love to Support Autism Speaks...❤️

Happy Spring Break, Y'all!!

I just wanted to let y'all know that the EPMS team page to join for the walk is UP AND RUNNING!!! I am your team captain this year.

Forward this link to all your friends and family. If you want to walk, awesome. Anyone you know wants to walk, EVEN BETTER!! Share this link anywhere you want-Facebook, Twitter, Titan Talk, Instagram, etc. The more donations we get, the better. All of our donations go to Autism Speaks, which helps fund continued research, programs, local services, and resources to help our babies (and not so much babies) with autism.

If you have any questions about the walk, let me know. Some of us have done it in the past, although it is at Atlantic Station this year (which is different). It is an AMAZING event-one that has truly opened my eyes and you meet some truly incredible people with heartwarming stories while you walk.

The walk is on Sunday, April 29. Registration begins at 8:00 am, but the walk starts at 9:30 am.

Happy Spring Break Titans!

As you head out to Spring Break, I want to tell you that our school is moving in a direction where students are excited about their progress and taking a seat at the table when it comes to their academic success. Because you love us, students are achieving and teachers are supported.

This week PTSA students were invited to sit down for a roundtable discussion. Our PTSA hosted stations for students to give input on subjects such as student programs, clubs, WINN, AVID, i-Ready, Connections, and ideas which they would like to see instituted. These students blew me away with their insights and commitment to their education. The most important takeaway is that students truly want to make the most of their educational experience by being stakeholders.

The PTSA showed us their love by designing a delightful retreat in the Teachers Lunchroom. The objective was to create a relaxing environment for teachers and staff to recharge, connect, work, and eat. Their effort was one of the most beautiful ways for parents to thank our teachers and staff for taking care of our children!

Congratulations to our new School Governance Council members: Emory Johnson, Stacy Lampert, and Kristen Patterson. A very special thank you to our parent and teacher candidates for running. We are truly honored to have such involved parents and staff.

Please have your child give their laptops a much-needed rest! It is important to have your child log off, power down, and charge the battery. Please make sure to keep student laptops safe and secure over the break. When we return, students will be using their devices to test for the Georgia Milestones.

It is my utmost wish that on Spring Break you enjoy your time off to rest, relax, and recharge with friends and family!

Home of the Titans!

Because PTSA Loves Our Teachers...❤️

Thank you to the PTSA for taking the Teacher Lounge and giving it an HGTV makeover. A special thanks to Christy Joy Jimenez for her vision, design skills, and leadership to this project. Please click on the video below and see the many volunteers, craftsman, and supporters of the Teacher Lounge Makeover. This lounge is everything it is today because of every single family that donated and joined the Elkins Pointe PTSA. Your membership made this incredible transformation happen, and it was because you love us!

Christy Joy Jimenez's words on the Teacher Lounge:

About a month ago the PTSA at my son's middle school approached me about helping with a makeover of the teacher's lounge area. Although I'm not a designer (nor a videographer), I guess a few of my friends trusted my vision enough to recommend me to do it! I was thrilled to take on the challenge along with the help of many talented volunteers! A blog post will come with photos and links and proper thanks to all involved, but for now, enjoy this video of the transformation. The amazing part is that 100% of the project was funded by parent donations to the PTSA! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity. Please know that your donations are truly making a difference in the quality of life of the educators we entrust our children to! music by www.bensound.com

Japanese students visited Elkins Pointe Middle School on Thursday, March 29th. Our guests included 9 students and 3 chaperones from Miyagi, Japan. Our Japanese guests enjoyed a picnic lunch, did an egg hunt activity, played a game and interacted with EPMS Japanese students. They also observed some Connections classes and participated in the Drum Circle and the Origami Club. Special thanks to the host families: Chambers, Garrett, Godoy, Gross, Jatcko, Kardian, Marcheck, Schwandt, and Wishert for showing the students around Roswell and spending time with them after school!

A special thank you goes to the 6th-grade teachers who served the students. A special thank you to Mr. Emory Johnson for bringing this idea to EPMS from one of Ron Clark's books.
